In 1956 Shelly Dubofsky loaded a manual reel blade push mower and some hand trimmers into the trunk of his father’s Oldsmobile ’88 and went off to start mowing lawns in the neighborhoods of Chicago. Realizing he could make some money and put himself through school he worked countless days and hours before and after school and on the weekends and so began the start of Shelly’s Landscape contractors, Inc. Over the last 56 years our industry has changed in many ways. Many companies have come and gone but we have steadily grown into a full service design, build and maintenance company with a core group of employees that have been with us for over 35 years! With 2 generations of family running the company we have prided ourselves in our ability to provide professional services in all aspects of landscape design and maintenance with an eye for detail and the highest industry standards for materials, installations, maintenance standards and customer service.
